Nothing could be simpler, just grab yourself a bottle of fake urine, get it to the right temperature, submit it, and pass your drug test. However, that story isn’t actually the truth. Most synthetic urine reviews don’t tell you about the brands of fake pee that will fail, and they also don’t give you the tips you need to submit the sample successfully.
In this guide, I’m going to quickly tell you how best to use fake urine to pass a drug test, explain exactly what has to be in synthetic urine for drug tests, and tell you how to avoid the biggest reason why people fail a urinalysis using synthetic pee.
Plus, I’m going to give you detailed synthetic urine reviews for the top three brands out there, as well as telling you about the three synthetic urine products you should always avoid.
Why Use Fake Urine For Drug Tests?
The reason that I always recommend using fake urine for a drug tests is that it’s the easiest way to pass. As long as the fake urine is good quality, and you submit it within the correct temperature range, it’s a guaranteed pass.
The reason for this is most drug tests are unsupervised. Nobody is standing in the room with you, nobody is looking over your shoulder. You’ll go behind the screen for an unsupervised test, or maybe even into a different room.
But people panic about trying to smuggle the fake sample in. So they go for other options like home remedies, or poor quality detox drinks, and they fail.
So if the drug test is supervised, fake urine is on the way to go. But if it’s like 90% of all drug tests in the USA, unsupervised, then using synthetic urine for drug test is your best option, as long as you follow everything I’m going to tell you now.
The Best Synthetic Urine Brands Must Have These Characteristics
Human urine is very complex, containing more than 20 different things. Even the most complex synthetic urine on the market doesn’t 100% mimic human urine.
But the great news is that when the lab checks that your sample is valid, real and not diluted or adulterated in any way, they don’t check for the presence of every single chemical found in real urine.
It’s not actually known exactly which chemicals are checked for, but at a minimum, it’s urea, creatinine, and sometimes uric acid. More advanced drug tests will check for more chemicals, so the better the formula, the less chance there is of it being detected.
However, if you want to use synthetic urine for your drug test, it needs to have at least the following minimum characteristics:
Contains urea, creatinine, and uric acid
Must fall within the correct specific gravity range for human urine
Has to fall within the correct pH range for human urine
Must pass a visual check, ideally, it must look, froth, and smell like human urine
Has to contain the tools to allow you to submit it within the correct temperature range
That doesn’t sound too much to ask, however you’d be surprised how many fake urine products don’t achieve even those basics.
The problem is that a lot of the more basic synthetic urine products are old formulas, and testing quality has moved on.
You also have to factor in that some of the cheaper urine products were never meant to pass drug tests at all, they were sold as fetish/novelty products, and by suggesting they could pass a drug test, they sell more.
Low-Quality Synthetic Urine Brands
So before I move on to give you detailed best synthetic urine reviews, let’s tell you about the brands of fake urine that you should be ignoring.
There are three popular brands out there which you will often read will help you pass a drug test, but I know for a fact do not contain the basic ingredients we have just discussed:
All three of those brands have been popular in the past, and several years ago when drug testing was more basic, then they could have passed, and there is some evidence from people I know that they did work to some degree.
One of the big problems with a lot of fake pee brands is that they contain an artificial preservative called biocide. It’s rumored that the big testing labs now test for the presence of this artificial preservative. You’re looking for synthetic urine that doesn’t contain this detectable preservative, and all three of those brands do contain.
So in this age of modern digitalized drug testing, it would be suicide to use any of these three brands. Especially when there are far more effective alternatives out there that don’t actually cost much more money now.
How To Use Synthetic Urine To Pass A Drug Test
So let’s now quickly talk you through how to use synthetic urine to pass a drug test.
The exact procedure will differ slightly depending on whether you have a heating pad to keep the sample warm, or heat activator powder. But generally, the process is as follows.
You’ll need to heat the sample. If you using a heating pad, you could just activate that and strap it on. The sample will warm up to within the correct temperature range (as long as the heat pad is decent) within about 45 minutes, and then be regulated within that range for up to 5 hours. You can give the heat pad a head start by microwaving the sample a bit though. Just a few seconds at a time until you get a reading on the temperature strip, then put the heat pad on (it helps to activate it early so it’s warm).
The third option is when you use heat activator powder. This is only used in two synthetic urine products, Sub Solution, and Quick Luck. However, it removes the need for a heating pad, because the powder agitates the liquid and heats it up within a few seconds. You just keep adding heat activator powder until it gets to within the temperature range, which is best done just before you go into submit the sample.
You’ll then need to disguise the fact you’ve got the sample on you. The best trick is to wear two pairs of underpants, and simply tuck it in between the two pairs, in your crotch area so that it’s unlikely to be seen, and is kept close to the body to help regulate the heat.
Because the test will be unsupervised you don’t have to worry about being seen pouring the sample into the sample container. If you’re behind a screen though, you should still adopt a natural position, and be careful about the noises you make when putting it into the cup sounding unnatural.
Why Fake Urine Can Fail & How To Avoid It
So look, as long as you get the best synthetic urine, and it’s within the correct temperature range, then you should pass a drug test easily.
But it’s that temperature range problem which is the big one. And it’s the only one you can affect directly.
Urine exits the body at between 96°F and 100°F. Legally, to allow for cooling as you hand the sample over, any sample of 90°F and above has to be accepted.
A good quality heat pad will certainly do the job well. Just make sure you check before you go into the testing lab building. If it’s too hot, take the heat pad off for a few minutes, or simply run the sample under some cool water for a few seconds.
If it’s too cold, if you’ve got a product with a pair of heat pads, you could activate that and wait 10 minutes. Alternatively, my top tip is simply to have a small flask of hot water on you or to look around for the nearest coffee shop or bar, as those sort of places will have restrooms with warm running water.
Synthetic Urine Reviews: Top 3 Fake Piss Brands
So hopefully all that has helped you to understand how to use synthetic urine. But it’s one thing to know how to use that it urine, and quite another to know which brands will pass the validity checks.
So in this last section of my quick guide to the best synthetic urine, I’m going to give you my top three synthetic urine reviews. All three of these are tried and tested, definitely don’t contain biocide, and definitely do contain at least the basic ingredients we’ve already discussed.
Sub Solution Powdered Urine Kit
The number one brand of synthetic urine is Sub Solution. It’s the most popular, and the most trusted. However, it costs $80 and people trying to cut corners with cheaper brands lose out by not just investing an extra few dollars.
Sub Solution was the most complex brand on the market until about a year ago when the company who make it introduced another product called Quick Luck.
Quick Luck is identical to Sub Solution apart from the fact that it contains a couple more chemicals found in urine, and it’s premixed. Sub Solution is powdered synthetic urine, so you will need access to lukewarm water when you prepare the sample. So Quick Luck is slightly more convenient.
But the big selling point, apart from the complexity of the formula, is the heat activator powder. This gives you tight control over the sample temperature. You don’t need a microwave, you don’t need a heat pad. Just before you enter the building to submit your sample, you simply tap in about a third of the heat activator powder, agitate it, and watch the temperature rise.
If it’s still a little cold, add more heat activator powder until you get to as close to 100°F as possible without going over. That then gives you about 20 minutes, as long as you keep the sample close to your body, to submit a totally valid sample.
Both Sub Solution and Quick Luck are available from Clear Choice. Clear Choice also makes something called the practice kit, which contains everything that the Quick Luck kit does except for the urine.
The practice kit allows you to do a dry run. It contains a pair of heat pads and heat activator powder. So you can practice with warm water, you can see how long it stays warm for, you can practice with the heatpad to see how that keeps the temperature warm, and you can practice with heat activator powder.
Doing all that on the day before your test will give you confidence, and help you to understand exactly how to use synthetic urine.
Quick Fix 6.2
The best of the budget brands out there is Quick Fix 6.2. It only costs $30, or $40 for the larger plus version which contains 3 fluid ounces rather than two.
So because it’s a budget brand you’re only getting budget urine. It doesn’t quite look as much like human urine as Sub Solution does, but good enough for passing a basic test.
It definitely contains urea, uric acid, and creatinine, and it’s balanced correctly as well. But that’s about it, so it’s unlikely to pass anything more than basic employment drug test.
It uses a heating pad, which is less reliable than the heat activator powder. But it will be good enough in most circumstances unless the heat pad has problems. As long as you take my advice about cold and hot water, you should be fine. You only get one heat pad though, so there is a backup option.
So Quick Fix is a great budget option if you don’t care about the drug test, you know it’s not going to be complex, or you are short of money.
Test Clear Powdered Urine
My third synthetic urine review is for Test Clear powdered urine. Test Clear is a very reputable brand, but it’s little-known that they have a powdered urine kit available.
What makes it a contender for one of the best synthetic urine brands is that it’s real powdered urine, not a synthetic one. So it’s like sub Solution, you have to add water to hydrate it, but it will be more complex than any of the other brands out there because it is literally human urine.
My only concern about this product is that it hasn’t got much real-world evidence online about it. There are a few positive reviews of this synthetic urine, but there’s not a lot of chat about it good or bad. So I’m recommending it based on the pedigree of the company, and the fact that its real urine.
The Test Clear synthetic urine kit costs just $50, so it could well be a better option than Quick Fix in that similar price range, because of the fact it’s really dehydrated human urine, so the complexity should be better.
The heatpad quality is also definitely better as well, and what I like about it is it self adhesive and very flexible, so you can wrap it around the sample to make sure a steady heat goes into the liquid at all times. You also get two of them with the kit, meaning you always have a reserve should the first one fail.
